ON VIEW AT THE DYER LIBRARY: Heather Denkmire
February 1-29, 2012
Heather Denkmire graduated from Skidmore College in 1991. After several years in Saco (where she and her children loved to spend time at the Dyer Library) she and her two young daughters moved to the North Deering area of Portland. Her works are mostly oil pastels and paint on paper, canvas, or wood. She has been doing creative work all her life, and participated in some student exhibitions at Skidmore. In 2010 she started showing her pictures publicly again, beginning with the Starbucks in Saco. She can be reached at heather@serenebabe.net.

TERRIFIC TODDLERS
This special program for children 18 months to three years includes finger plays, songs, movement and stories and an appropriate craft project, with social time for parents and children afterwards. With repetition and fun challenges toddlers learn speech and listening skills.

Knit, crochet, embroider, hook rugs--just bring yourself and your latest project!

BOUNCING BABIES
We welcome our youngest patrons from birth to 18 months for baby bounces, songs and stories, with social time for parents and children afterwards. This program stimulates language development and increases your baby's capacity for learning. There will not be programming February 24 or April 20. The last day will be June 15. There are no programs if RSU23 has a school cancellation due to snow.

Kotzschmar Jr. Organ Concerts at the Dyer Library

The Dyer Library is hosting three FREE Kotzschmar Jr. organ concerts in the Deering Room during the first weekend in February: Friday, February 3rd at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m., and Sunday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. Organists John Sullivan and Seamus Gethienker play a series of music and demonstrate how an organ works. Children will be able to touch and see organ pipes in action. The Kotzschmar Organ at Merrill Auditorium Centennial is this year, and Kotzchmar Jr. organ is traveling around for celebratory performances.

LAUGHING WITH LOIS: PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
Bring your preschooler to this wonderful program that involves children's literature, songs and a craft project. This program helps children develop early social and behavioral skills essential for schooling.

POKEMON CLUB
Open to all ages and levels of experience! This program runs concurrent with the school year and will take a hiatus during summer break.

1st Play: Macbeth

Please join us for this new reading group, "Reading Shakespeare." Attendees are requested to bring their own copies of the play and join in reading the play aloud, line by line. If you aren't interested in reading aloud, don't worry, just come and enjoy Shakespeare's work as it was written. This group will meet the last Tuesday of every month in the Deering Room at 1 p.m.--so get ready to enjoy Shakespeare's great works! **This event requires pre-registration to acquire copies of Macbeth if needed, please contact the Circulation Desk at 283-3861 ext. 104**
